Recover abandoned checkout carts

Turn abandoned carts into orders with an automatic WhatsApp reminder drip — 30 minutes, 2 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours after abandonment. Works with Shiprocket Checkout, Shopify, WooCommerce, or a custom store.

1

What it does

When a shopper abandons a cart at your checkout, Greenbubble receives the webhook and sends a timed WhatsApp reminder series to bring them back. The drip stops automatically as soon as the shopper completes the order.

2

Before you start

You need: a connected, template-capable WhatsApp number; four approved WhatsApp templates (all four messages are business-initiated, so the 24-hour rule applies); and access to your checkout webhook settings (e.g. Shiprocket Checkout, Shopify, WooCommerce).

3

Step 1 — Choose how recovery works

Open Connect → Abandoned Carts. Select the WhatsApp number messages are sent from, set the default country code so bare local numbers are normalised, and leave Stop on conversion on so the drip is cancelled when the shopper pays.

4

Step 2 — Set the four messages

The default schedule is 30 minutes, 2 hours, 12 hours and 24 hours after abandonment. For each step choose an approved template and map its variables to checkout fields — for example {{1}} → Customer name, {{2}} → Item name, {{3}} → Checkout resume URL. Copy-ready template text is built into the wizard: open "Suggested template text", copy it into Message Templates, and create it as a UTILITY template.

5

Step 3 — Connect your checkout and publish

Copy the Greenbubble webhook URL from the wizard. In your checkout webhook settings (e.g. Shiprocket Checkout → Webhooks, Shopify, WooCommerce, or a custom store) add a webhook, set the event to Abandon Cart, paste the URL, enable it and save. Back in Greenbubble click Publish, then Send a test to confirm delivery.

6

Confirm it is working

The Setup health card shows events received, carts captured, messages sent and failures, plus the time of the last event. Once it says "Receiving events", you are live. Everything runs automatically — no support needed.

7

Troubleshooting

No message after an abandoned cart: the payload must include a phone number; if the shopper abandoned before entering it, there is nothing to send to. Messages stop after payment: that is the Stop on conversion guard working as intended. A step fails with a template error: the template must be Approved. No webhook received at all: confirm the URL is enabled in your checkout and the event is Abandon Cart.
